SaaS contract management tracks terms, notice periods, and obligations per vendor. Learn what to capture and why auto-renewal is the costly clause.
August 7, 2026
SaaS contract management is the practice of centralizing and actively managing the commercial and legal terms of every software subscription: pricing, term length, renewal mechanics, notice periods, service levels, data processing terms, and exit conditions. It is what turns a folder of PDFs into a set of dates and obligations somebody is accountable for.
Most SaaS agreements renew automatically unless notice is given inside a window that often closes 30 to 90 days before the term ends. Miss that date and the negotiation disappears for another year, along with any leverage over price or seat count. The notice deadline, not the renewal date, is what belongs in the calendar, and it is precisely the date most companies never track.
A company decides to consolidate two overlapping tools. The cheaper contract can be terminated, but the notice window closed eleven days earlier, so the subscription renews for a full year with an uplift. Nothing was mismanaged in the negotiation, only in the calendar. Tracking notice deadlines alongside usage data means the decision arrives while it can still be acted on, which is what Corma keeps in one place with the seat and usage picture.
Contract management covers the whole agreement and every obligation inside it. Renewal management is the operational process around one recurring event within that agreement.
The window before term end during which notice must be given to prevent automatic renewal. Thirty to ninety days is typical, and it is counted from the term end, not from the invoice date.
The data processing agreement under Article 28 of the GDPR, the hosting location and any transfer mechanism, the sub-processor list, and the notice mechanics.
Wherever they are linked to the live estate. A contract repository disconnected from usage and renewal dates gets consulted after the deadline rather than before it.
