SaaSOps runs the SaaS estate through automation instead of tickets. Learn what the practice covers and where it sits between IT and security.

SaaSOps is the operational practice of managing a company SaaS estate through automation rather than manual administration: provisioning, deprovisioning, configuration, license allocation, and data hygiene, executed as repeatable workflows. The term describes both the discipline and, increasingly, a dedicated role inside IT teams.
SaaSOps is neither security nor help desk, although it touches both. Security defines what should be true, the help desk handles what individuals need, and SaaSOps makes the estate behave consistently without either of them doing it by hand. In a company of 50 to 500 employees it is rarely a full-time title. It is a set of workflows one or two people own on top of another job, which is exactly why automation decides whether it works.
An IT team of two supports 280 employees across 110 applications. Handled manually, onboarding, offboarding, and access requests consume most of the week and still leave gaps. Rebuilt as SaaSOps workflows triggered from the HR system, the same volume runs without tickets and produces an audit trail as a by-product. Corma is where those workflows run, across the applications the identity provider covers and the ones it does not.
It is in larger organizations, often as SaaS operations manager or SaaS administrator. In mid-market companies it is usually a set of responsibilities carried by an IT generalist.
ITOps covers infrastructure, endpoints, and networks. SaaSOps covers the cloud applications and the identity and license lifecycle around them.
Offboarding. It has a hard deadline, a clear security consequence, and the highest error rate of any lifecycle task performed by hand.
Not strictly, but it needs a reliable inventory and API access across applications, which is what a SaaS management platform provides in one place.
